What is Reesmarine?

Reesmarine.com is a web site to provide the marine community with online resources. Primarily this site allows boat and yacht owners, traders and brokers to advertise boats, yachts, chandlery or anything marine related. We also publish information on all Marina's in the UK.

A lot of sites on the Internet have hidden costs and sites that say they are free often are not. Our site is different! We believe in offering the best services possible to our users. Nearly everything you come across on the site is free. We only charge trade users if they want to have a large number of adverts or special features that are not available to normal users. Anyone can have up to 5 classified listings, with photos for FREE. No hidden charges, no commission nothing.

You may be running a security tool on your computer that is blocking these links. Some Anti-Virus and Firewall programs such as Norton, McAffe, ZoneAlarm and Outpost can block links they think are adverts. They do this by looking at the size of an image, the words that are present in the url and link. Often if your security settings are set to high parts or all of the page cannot be seen. The solution is to set security settings or ad blocking setting to "normal"

Your unlock code is sent as soon as you register on reesmarine. Most of the time this arrives immediately but with some e-mail providers it can take a little while to come through. We have seen hotmail accounts take up to an hour. Also it may be possible that your e-mail provider or application has deemed this e-mail junk and either deleted it or moved it to a junk items folder, so check there as well . If you are still having trouble then we can unlock your account manually. Please contact us.

The banner adverts you see on our pages are our main source of income - so please click through and have a look if you have the time. Although we charge for some services our main aim is to keep the cost of running the site low. The site is set up to manage itself, with very little intervention.

You only to register if you want to place a classified listing for your boat or other item for sale. You do not need to register to view other peoples listings or to contact them. You also do not need to register to view the marina data.

First you need to make sure you have registered with us and unlocked your account. You can login by entering your details in the centre of the home page. You will also find links to login in the menu to the left or whenever you try and access a part of the site that requires you to be logged in.

Can I advertise the same item more than once?

You cannot have the same item listed more than once at the same time. There is no need. Choose the best category for your item and not place it in more than one category. Our search facility is very powerful so that users can find what they are looking for regardless of category. Our database will normally remove duplicate items automatically.

No. Unless you entered it in the "free text" section. When someone contacts you about your item they use a form on our website. They provide their email and we send it to you on their behalf. This means they do not see your email address. If you choose to reply to the email then they will discover your address as the email will be sent directly from you to them.

Yes, you can reference other web sites in your "free text" section of your listing. Make sure you start this with "http://" and it will be automatically made in to a clickable link.

A listing is the term we use for a classified advert. We try to avoid the word advert because this can be confused with the banner adverts and other forms of advertising used on this site.

First, make sure you are registed and can login. When you login you will be presented with "your home". This will show any listings you have made so far. You will notice a link called "place new listing" click this then follow the questions. You will also be asked for a photo of your boat. No. No html tags will be allowed in any of the text boxes. If html is found it will be simply converted to text. URLs will be made in to links if they start with 'http://'.

You can let us know about any changes to a marina's details by using the feedback form. The link is at the top of this page.

If you know of a marina that is not listed and it is in the UK or Ireland then please send us a feedback with as much detail as possible. You will find the link to the feedback form at the top of this page.
